Know a Future ESA Surgeon?
Nominate them for Associate Membership
Associate Members (Next Generation Surgeons) are candidates under forty-five (45) years of age who intend to become Active Members at a later stage. They are selected by the Membership Committee upon the recommendation of the Committee for Associate Next Generation Membership, following the same procedure as for Active Membership. Associate Members are entitled to free membership.
Based on their participation in meetings, including the presentation of papers and engagement in discussions, Associate Members may become Active Members, subject to the approval of the Council. If they do not meet the requirements for progression to Active Membership, they will no longer remain Associate Members, but may subsequently be proposed for Active Membership through the usual procedure.
The ESA Council now encourages the current ESA members to identify and nominate potential Associate Members within their professional networks.
To officially nominate a next generation surgeon for ESA Associate Membership, the ESA Sponsor is requested to send in a CV and motivation letter of the candidate to the ESA Secretariat (esa@beyond-associations.be), copying Prof Robert Caiazzo on the email (Robert.CAIAZZO@CHU-LILLE.FR)
Deadline: October 28, 2026 (23:59 CET)
